Ascent Receives Public Innovation Funding to Redefine Personal Care

Ascent has been awarded public innovation funding to accelerate the development of next-generation refillable personal care solutions, a major step in transforming the status quo of the industry.

This R&D program focuses on engineering a high-performance, refillable system designed to eliminate plastic waste, extend product lifespan, and fundamentally rethink how personal care products are made and used. Both formulation and packaging are being developed under strict technical and sustainability standards, including research into durability, material compatibility, mechanical reliability, and long-term stability. The system includes plastic-free refill formats and vegan, microplastic-free formulations.

This publicly supported innovation marks Ascent’s expansion into advanced product engineering and strengthens its ambition to build a scalable, refill-based personal care ecosystem, contributing to a structural shift away from the industry’s linear consumption model.

Changes to our packaging

At Ascent, we believe that every detail matters, not just the scent inside the bottle, but everything that surrounds it.

We’ve recently introduced new packaging, developed in collaboration with local suppliers. This shift allows us to reduce our environmental impact while supporting partners closer to home. By working locally, we’re able to be more intentional about materials, production, and overall quality.

The new design is more sustainable, cleaner, and visually refined. It reflects who we are: modern, thoughtful, and focused on quiet luxury. From the first touch to the final unboxing moment, the experience feels elevated and considered.

We are constantly looking for ways to improve, not for the sake of change, but to ensure that every Ascent product delivers the best possible experience. Better materials. Better design. Better impact.

Introducing: Ascent Brown

We’re proud to introduce Ascent Brown, the newest addition to our collection. A fragrance created around the idea of modern intimacy and self-love.

Ascent 1 Year Event

A year ago, Ascent was just an idea with big ambitions. Recently we marked our first anniversary with the launch of the Silver Case at CUE Amsterdam.

Looking back, we find it hard to believe how much has happened in just 12 months. We grew from 3 founders to a team of 7 dedicated members, welcomed thousands of customers, and launched not only two new fragrances but also our Silver Case. Along the way, we partnered with dozens of retail shops across multiple countries and were featured in media such as De Ondernemer, AD.nl, New Business Radio, &C Media, and many more.

We would be lying if we said it was always easy... From our perfectionism getting in the way to struggling to find our space in a luxurious industry and many other unexpected setbacks, the year came with its fair share of challenges. But no obstacle was a threat to our determination and ideas.

The anniversary night itself was unforgettable - with Dylan Hoogerwerf tattooing our Silver Case live and our guests experiencing all of the Ascent scents, it was the perfect way to celebrate how far we’ve come.

More than anything, this anniversary reminded us why we started: to create fragrances that are memorable, sustainable, refillable, and built to last. We’re incredibly grateful to our team, our partners, and everyone who has believed in what we’re building.
